What is a punch needle tool?

Before we dive into the details of how to use the adjustable plastic punch needle tool, let's first understand what it is. A punch needle tool is a handheld instrument used in the art of punch needle embroidery. It consists of a hollow needle with a handle and an adjustable loop length mechanism. The adjustable plastic punch needle tool is a popular choice among beginners due to its ease of use and affordability.

Step 1: Prepare your materials

Before you start using the adjustable plastic punch needle tool, gather all the necessary materials. You'll need punching needle kit that are a piece of fabric, an embroidery hoop to hold the fabric taut, embroidery floss or yarn, and of course, the punch needle tool itself. Make sure your fabric is tightly secured in the embroidery hoop to prevent any wrinkles or puckering.

With our adjustable plastic punch needle tools, you can easily adjust the needle to create different loops. It is fully adjustable so you are able to create different depth, textures and stitch types which you could not achieve with a standard non adjustable punch needle.

Pile Heights are as follows:
A: 53 mm
B: 43 mm
C: 34 mm
D: 24 mm

Step 2: Thread the punch needle tool

Now it's time to thread the punch needle tool. Start by selecting your desired color of embroidery floss or yarn. Thread the floss or yarn through the eye of the needle, leaving a tail of about 2-3 inches. Make sure the tail is on the backside of the needle.

Step 3: Adjust the loop length

One of the key features of the adjustable plastic punch needle tool is the ability to control the loop length. This allows you to create different textures and effects in your punch needle designs. To adjust the loop length, locate the adjustable mechanism on the handle of the tool. Slide it up or down to achieve your desired loop length. A shorter loop will create a denser texture, while a longer loop will result in a more raised effect.

Step 4: Start punching!

With your punch needle tool threaded and the loop length adjusted, it's time to start punching!

  • Open the threader. Insert the threader into the punch needle from the needle point and completely through it barrel until it comes out the opposite end of the punch needle.
